Car Alarms: 1992 Prelude alarm problem!, honda prelude, 1992 honda prelude

Question
I have a 1992 Honda Prelude that won't start. There is a small electrical plug at the bottom of the dash to the right of the steering wheel, and there is a small plastic thing with 5 or 6 terminals on it that will plug into the connector. If I plug it in and try to start the car I hear a click under the dash but it won't start, and then if I turn the key on there is no instrument lights at all, but after I play around with it by place the plastic key in and out and turning the key off and on I can get the instrument lights back, but still won't start. The little plastic key thing says Auto Guard on it. Any help will be appreciated.

Answer
The piece is a starter kill device.
If malfunctioning, or you do
not have a key that works, locate the BLACK/WHITE
wire in the ignition switch harness. On it will
have this device wiring. Cut off, and re attach
the 2 free ends of the starter wire. This corrects
the situation and the car will now start.
Then Trash the piece and get a REAL alarm.

Good luck.
