Car Alarms: GM Passlock Bypass Kit, gm passlock, chevy malibu

Question
I own a 1998 Chevy Malibu LS and have been having issues w/ the theft system. I learned how to reset the system after checking out a couple of these forums but then the reset procedure failed to work anymore. I purchased a GM self-learning bypass kit (PLJX) and took it to my mechanic to install. My mechanic ran into a few issues. First, I am only bypassing the system and not adding a remote start. I read on one of your forums that this should stop the passlock issue. The problem my mechanic faced was that the directions sent with the unit did not cover installation without adding a remote start nor did it properly detail the wiring schematics. Can you tell me where I can find a wiring schematic for the PLJX unit that is specific for my vehicle? My mechanic did install the unit and my vehicle started but he doesn't know if the wiring is correct. It took about 4-5 hours of trial and error to finally get the vehicle to start. It starts up but the theft light remains on but it doesn't blink.

Answer
You can download the info at www.bypasskit.com
you can also get tech support on it there as well.
but to elaborate. The only thing the installer
would need to do is ground the wire that would have
gone to the (-) remoe start wire.

And ALL passlock wiring would be listed in the
paper that came with it.

That
s where you should start.

Maybe a CAR ALARM/REMOTE STARTER TECHNICIN
perhaps?
