Car Alarms: Excalibur Gold 1200, replacement remotes, keyless entry system

Question
I bought a car with the Ex-Gold 1200 alarm plus keyless entry system in it.  There was no battery in the car for two years and the remotes melted in a fire.  I bought replacement remotes but when I go to program them per the original instruction book the alarm makes no noise or anything.  There is a little display that shows a "P".  When I turn the key it shows a "1", which I'm guessing is the number of currently programmed remotes.  After I try to program and turn the key off the flashing light turns off for a few second then back on and no change at all. I can still drive the car but it acts like there is no alarm system. Please help.

Answer
The best thing here is
to write to my OMEGA Alarm technician at
scadss@tmail.com and see if
he can assist you with this issue.

I unfortunately don't know the
system you are working with to advise
you properly on it's functions,
features or trouble shooting
information. Better to check with a tech
that might.

Good luck there.
