Car Alarms: 1995 Monte Carlo Z34, passlock bypass, alarmtek

Question
I am trying to find info about the security systems for this year of car.  I have
the chip in my key also there is a kill key located near the steering column on
the right.  I was told that once the computer chip key is separated from its
case it kills all electrical going to the car.  I am asking cause my vehicle has all
the lights on but no kick over changed started, which allowed it to start three
times and then nothing.  The vehicle is under 150km yet and well taken care
of.  So I am at a lose.  Do not want to spend what I do not have to please help
me.

Thank you
Shannon

Answer
Unfortunately, yes this
vehicle has a the PASSLOCK II key
based engine disabling system, and will require a
GM PLJX bypass module.

A bypass is required to circumvent for remote start applications.
If left unchecked, it will lock down the fuel injector
rail, and you will then need to
tow it in to GM for evaluation, and resetting.

This Passlock Bypass Module is designed to momentarilly
allow the engine to remote start by sending a proper
coded pulse to open the fuel rail passlock injector
cut off circuit.

The output from an alarm/remote starter
would then shut down the pulse, once it has detected
the engine has engaged, and preserve the integrity
of the passlock system.

That is it's designed purpose.

This is a self learning, resistor sensing
and self adjusting module. Once the VATS/PASSLOCK
wires have been tapped,
you would press the program button to learn,
and it does. The car should then allow start
with any hardware store key.
