Car Alarms: 2003 Honda Odyssey alarm sounding randomly, 2003 honda odyssey, honda odyssey

Question
QUESTION: My 2003 Odyssey factory alarm (anti-theft) went off 3 times in the middle of the night for no reason. The car was unlocked with the key fob, to begin with. Each time it sounded erroneously I hit the unlock button on the key fob to stop the alarm from sounding. We had it in to the dealer but they couldn't get it to reproduce the situation. It got cold here last night (8°F) and it did this once before when it was extremely cold, which is when we took it into the dealer for diagnosis. Could this be a blown fuse? If so, which should I look into replacing? If not, is there a way to disarm the anti-theft alarm? I am now so thoroughly irritated and I'm sure my neighbours are as well that I just feel having the alarm disabled is much better than the nuisance that it is in it's current state.

Thanks in advance for your help.

ANSWER: Please be more descriptive if possible.

"GOING OFF?"

I need to determine whether it's a factory alarm
issue or, if it's an aftermarket system you are
dealing with.

Is it: Headlights flashing, car horn honking
and a worded SECURITY" light in the dash flashing?
(doubtfull since none of the notes show this
car as having a factory alarm system)=FACTORY

Or,

is it: flashing parking lights,
an LED in the dash area, and a siren
going off?= AFTER MARKET

Let me know more on this to better
advise you on a course of action
to take.

QUESTION: It is a factory installed car alarm and by going off I mean that the car is sitting in the driveway without being touched, broken into, etc but the horn starts sounding, lights blinking  for no apparent reason.

ANSWER: From the sounds of it, the door locks and alarm
(combination system) is detecting an open circuit.
A door or dome light on, triggerung the alarm.

You need to have Honda service evaluate this to be sure,
and affect repairs.

If it were an after market system, there would
be an impact/shock sensor to inspect, but
not if it's factory.

Wish I had more for you, but my expertise
is in the after market end of things.

If it has a siren, maybe we can take care of it
without a Honda visit, but not in this case.

Sorry I coul not help more.

QUESTION: I already took it into the Honda dealer once but they couldn't get the car to reproduce the problem. Is there something I should ask them to check specifically? There's another odd thing that happens, when you put the driver's side window up with the power window actuator, it goes up about half way, gets to a certain point and goes right back down. If you keep your finger on the power window actuator button, it will go up to the top. But if you just pull it up quickly it does that half way up and right back down again thing. I'm wondering if these two problems are some how connected. I really appreciate all your help thus far and any additional insight you have on this situation is greatly welcomed.

Answer
Nope, I wish I had more to offer, but this sounds like
a power issue from Honda. If it was an alarm issue,
that would be one thing, in this instance, you need another
Honda mechanic to go over it with you.

Get a second opinion as to cause.
