Car Alarms: 1997 Ford Explorer factory alarm not arming??, auto starter, valid question

Question
I have installed an auto starter and want to trigger the alarm without opening the door. The alarm is supposed to turn on when the door is locked and a signal is sent to the door trigger.

I have a wire (drivers side rear door) that when grounded, turns the alarm on when doors are locked just as its supposed to.

Problem is that I think it triggers the alarm too slowly to work, the doors lock and it sends a ground to the circuit but won't arm.  If I push the lock button on the autostart quickly a few times it will work but not on the first try ever.

I had a relay at first but removed it when I tested and realized that the circuit only pulls .27A, now I directly run (with a diode to isolate the locks) the lock trigger wire to the lock wire and the door trigger.  Still no alarm with the door closed...

Ever had this issue?

Answer
No, but that's not to say it's not a valid question
