Car Alarms: PROLOCK Chip Socket Broken, butt connector, jeep cherokee

Question
I have 1993 Jeep Cherokee.  Starter chip inserts in to female socket under dash.  This morning (Reno, NV), chip would not go in to socket.  Tried two other chips.  No luck.  Co. out of business. I'm stuck.  Can't start car.  Who do you suggest I contact to fix or remove and rewire to ignition.  I am a woman with limited auto mechanic skills.  Help would be most appreciated.  Car otherwise awesome.  Only 60k miles, does Mt Rose (8,000 feet) like dream.  Desparate to be able to start car (kill switch is killing me..)

Answer
Mary,
If you have a phillips head screw driver,
a wire stripper/cutter/crimper and
1 yellow butt connector, you can get this
car going in less than 30 minutes.

Here's what you do:
Drop the under panel under the steering column,
exposing the wire harness coming off of the
ignition key switch.
On this harness is where the installer
inserted the prolock starter kill wires.
These 2 wires are attached to the yellow/green
wire. Cut them off, then put the 2 free ends of
the starter wire back together using the yellow
butt connector (ANY AUTO PARTS STORE OR WALMART)
and there you go. The car will now start.
Remove the PROLOCK wiring one by one, and
toss it.

If you can't do it, a local mechanic can.
But, shame on you!
Pulling the woman card out here? Piffle!
I have several woman installers I employ,
so that one does not fly here.
You can do this! Go for it.

Have a good evening.
