Car Alarms: AL-1000 E car alarm troubles, 2003 chevrolet cavalier, valet mode

Question
Hello there! My name is Kole Knipfel and I have an issue with an "Excalibur AL-1000 E" car alarm. The issue stems with me purchasing the vehicle with an aftermarket car alarm installed prior. I have an 2003 Chevrolet Cavalier. When I purchased this vehicle, the dealer just gave me two key fobs and basically said, "you figure it out" type thing. So no help on their end. The issue I have is with the alarm its self. The blue LED will not light up on the dash, so I tried to put it into valet mode, but to no success. The key fob will communicate with the vehicle, but ONLY when the actual key is in the ignition. It will lock/unlock when in the ignition, but nothing else, no panic sound or horn honking or anything else. I found a PDF file of the manual online, but it isn't helping me much either. Also, when I put the key in the ignition and hold down the valet button, it makes a "clicking" sound, much like the sound of when you turn on the blinker. Don't know what that is all about, but I am just trying to give you as much information as possible so you could help me out.

Any suggestions/ideas would greatly help!!

Thanks!!

Kole Knipfel

Answer
The best thing here is
to write to my OMEGA Alarm technician at
scadss@tmail.com and see if
he can assist you with this issue.

I unfortunately don't know the
system you are working with to advise
you properly on it's functions,
features or trouble shooting
information. Better to check with a tech
that might.

Good luck there.
