Car Alarms: disconnecting car alarm, car alarm system, butt connectors

Question
i have a 1997 GMC Jimmy.I am trying to disconnect the car alarm system,as it will not allow me to start the car.Normally,I would flick the lever under the dashboard towards the opposite direction after turning the ignition 3/4 of the way. After flicking the switch,I would turn the ignition the rest of the way and it would start. For some unknown reason, the wire that connects the lever/switch dangles from under the dashboard in the area where the gas/brake pedals are. However,my foot got caught in that wire and pulled the wire out of the end that connects to the lever/switch.(The lever is now totally loose). Is there some way that I can get to the other end of that wire under the dashboard and disconnect the alarm system from under the dashboard?  Please respond ASAP so that I can give it a try.I don't like the area where the car was left. My other email is nedwa@nysif.com,if you can send it there also.Thank you very much for your time and assistance.

Answer
It's an after market kill switch, badly installed
from the description.

I'd drop the underdash panel from the steering column,
locate the yellow or purple wire coming from the
key switch harness (The starter wire).
On it will be the 2 ends of this starter kill device.
One going to the key side of the starter
wire, and 1 to the starter side of this wire.

Cut it out, then re attatch the 2 free ends of the
cut wire using 2 yellow butt connectors and
that's that. Then tape off or cut out the old
system and button it up.

That solve this issue for good.
Might even consider a decent car alarm
at this point.

Good luck.
