Car Alarms: AudioVox Pursuit Alarm, siren wails, resident technicians

Question
I've got problems with an AudiVox Pursuit series PRO-9675 remote / security system on a GM Chevy Venture. Some functions of the transmitter on the key chain don't appear to work. Right now, the alarm is active, and the siren wails when I go in or out of the van, as well as the electrics won't work when the ignition switch is turned to start. Fortunately, if that's the word, the van is stuck in my driveway.

I finally figured out the Valet switch to try to disable the alarm, but the problem is that a) there are two small toggle switches there, not just one and b) I don't know which direction is on or off. The push button that I've seen referred to in some web sites doesn't seem to exist.

Any suggestions? I guess try each of 4 combinations of trying to set the valet setting? I've tried to re-program the unit, but without figuring out the right positions of these switches I'm not sure that's working.

Thanks alot,

Bob

Answer
Normally Bob, it's key on. flip the toggle in the opposite
direction, then key off to place into valet/reset mode,
and back out again.

On this one, if that does not work,
the best thing here is
to go to my installers forum at
www.installsupport.com and see if
my resident technicians there can assist
with this project. I don't know enough
on this system to advise you properly.

Good luck there.
