Car Alarms: Battery being drained, optima batteries, amperage

Question
Hello,
I paid someone off Craigslist to switch over my cd player and amp from a 1997 4runner to a 2000 4runner. When he did this he installed a Carbine Alarm system at the same time. Unfortunately the installation seems to be drawing a significant amount of power from my battery. I've been through two optima batteries in two years. If I don't use the alarm and drive more then ten miles everyday its fine however if I set the alarm 12-24 hours later I have to jump start my rig. It seems to be worse in the rain. How do I go about getting this fixed without paying some guy 100$ an hour to attempt to find the problem. Ideally I would like to have some kind of working alarm in the end that will allow me start my car with confidence. Thank you so much in advance. I live in Sacramento if you know anyone you trust.

Answer
My guess is the starter kill relay is not
functioning correctly, and is causing a drain here.

It should not cost more then 30.-40. dollars for
an inspection of this and repair.

Go to a local guy and have this part of it looked
at. It's probably th only part of a standard
alaem install that would deal with a high amperage
relay.

Good luck.
