Car Alarms: Ford Factory Car Starter, resident technicians, ford factory

Question
The dealer-installed car started on my 2002 Ford Explorer (purchased used from non-Ford dealer; start fob has "FORD" molded into it) will no longer kick the starter over. Do I reset just like I've seen you answer others?
Also, once it does begin starting again, is there any way to adjust the crank time? I have to repeatedly press the remote button in order to get the vehicle started (once it catches and runs, even in non-frezzing temps). It seems the crank time is a hair too short. The starter also rarely tries a "restart" on its own if the engine doesn't start!!
Thank you for your time and any help you can provide!!

Answer
On this one, the best thing here is
to go to my installers forum at
www.installsupport.com and see if
my resident technicians there can assist
with this project.

I unfortunately don't know the
system you are working with to advise
you properly on it's functions,
features or trouble shooting
information. Better to check with a tech
that might.

Good luck there.
