Car Alarms: Black Widow Car Alarm System, black widow car alarm, car alarm system

Question
I own a 2000 Toyota 4 Runner.  In 2001-2002 I had an aftermarket Black Widow Alarm System installed by Best Buy.  Currently when I hit the remote to disarm and unlock the doors it only disarms the alarm.  It does not unlock the doors.  I am having to unlock the doors with the key.  Any suggestions on where to bring it for repair or what might be wrong.  Called Black Widow.  Unfortunately they have no active dealers installing their systems anywhere within 100 miles of me.

Thanks in advance for any advice.  Let me know if you need more information.

Answer
Yes, my bet is that the child safety door lock
security is blocking theis function. There is a blue/red
wire in the same plug as the door lock wires,
that needs to be addressed at the same time you
unlock remotely.

There is an overide switch in the doors that
alow for it to be turned on and off, but
would affect an after market keyless entry
if the child lock wire is left undone.

Take it into a local shop for the repair.
Should be pretty cheap.

Good luck.
