Car Alarms: Car wont start... due to alarm being shorted., acura vigor, dash area

Question
I have a 1994 Acura Vigor.  Several years ago I could not get it to start, some mechanic I hired did something with the alarm system.  I can see where he took two wires off of the little alarm speaker.  Well the othere day I tried to start the car and the alarm system started the lights flasing etc... . I didn't know what to do so I took those two speaker wires and I touched them together.  I stoped all the flasing etc..., but now my car won't start.  The battery is charged the lights work the radio works, it just won't start.  Do you think you might now what the problem is.  I appreciate your help, Thanks.

Answer
Ok, describe to me what is going off when you open the
door. Is it a 6 tone siren or the car horn blarring?
Headlights or parking lights flashing?

If it's the latter, the factory alarm arms and disarms
when you lock and unlock the doors (with a key or
by remote). If malfuntioning, you would need to do some
dealership inspecting, and possibly replacement of
either the door mechanism, or the security module.
There is no simple fix you can do.

If aftermarket, put the key in the ignition,
and turn forward all the way just before cranking.
Then within 5 seconds, locate, press and hold in
the valet/overide button, found under the
dash area, (push button, spring loaded)
until the installed LED (the blinking light)
in your dash area goes on solid,
and the siren chirps once.

(Your valet switch might be the toggle
(on/off) type. in this case, key on,
flip switch in opposite direction,
then turn the key off.)

This should reset the alarm.

At this point, the only thing working would
be the keyless entry from the alarm,
if it came equipped that way.

Just Repeat these steps to place it
back to usable armed mode.
You may get 2 chirps, confirming it,
and the lights may flash twice as well.

That should do it.

Let me know what you find.
