Car Alarms: deactivating a alarm, alarmtek, dash area

Question
QUESTION: I have a 2003 Ford Explorer Limited which came with a factory alarm system. Could anyone please tell me how to deactivate the factory Ford alarm?

ANSWER: Please tell me what you are experiencing.

I need to determine whether it's a factory alarm
issue or, if it's an aftermarket system you are
dealing with.

Is it: Headlights flashing, car horn honking
and a worded SECURITY" light in the dash flashing?
(doubtfull since none of the notes show this
car as having a factory alarm system)=FACTORY

Or,

is it: flashing parking lights,
an LED in the dash area, and a siren
going off?= AFTER MARKET

Let me know more on this to better
advise you on a course of action
to take.

QUESTION: Well here is the whole problem.

Like I said, my vehicle came with a factory alarm from Ford. My vehicle also has a keypad entry. That is the key pad on the door of the vehicle to lock and unlock the vehicle. I did have an after market remote start/alarm put on the vehicle. Here is the problem.... If i lock the vehicle by the lock button on the inside or lock the vehicle by the keypad and I go to unlock it with the remote start/alarm button then the factory alarm goes off. The same goes for if I lock the vehicle with the remote start/alarm remote and unlock it by the keypad the factory alarm goes off. All i need to know is how to disarm or get rid of the factory alarm cause I love having the remote start/alarm and I love having the keypad on the outside of the vehicle!

Answer
Okee dokee,let's have you
take this to a tech for the "fix"

Normally, you would insert the key in
the drivers door, turn left, then right
to disarm and reset it. If yours is malfunctioning,
you can disable it for good by doing the following:

The factory alarm disarm wire is green/purple (-)
located in the driver door harness or
at the CSM* The CSM (Central Security Module) is below the
passenger side 'C' pillar.

Once Located, splice into this wire with
a simular guage wire, and put it to
a solid chassis ground. This terminates
the OEM alarm functions entirely.

That should do it for you.

Stay warm.
