Car Alarms: 2005-2006 Scion TC Boa Remote Starter Self Install Kit Model 165B, scion tc, ebay seller

Question
Hello there, I'm trying to buy a remote starter for my boyfriend's 2005-2006 Scion TC. I decided to go on E-bay and found a Boa Remote Starter Self Install Kit Model 165B. It says in the description that it's for Scion's. Not only am I wondering if I'm getting a good item, but can the 2005 - 2006 Scion Tc have a remote starter in it (it's an automatic). Thank you!

Answer
Well, no the remote starter is not specifically
designed for the Scion.

If that were the case, there would be a place to simply
plug it in, so I would say that's a bit deceptive.
It certainly may work well in a Scion tc, but not
designed for it specifically. Beware of false,
or ill informed claims from the bulk of after market
alarm sellers on Ebay, as they have no idea about the
features and capabilities it has or wiring of the
systems into the vehicles that they push online.
Check out the Ebay seller carefully please.

That's 1 thing.

The next is, does the seller on the "Ebay" site also
provide aftersale installation support? Or, provide
the wiring info for your specific vehicle for free?
And what is the warranty offered if installed by
yourselves, and not by dealer or a qualified and
approved BOA technician?

Might want to check all that out PRIOR to
purchasing it as well.

Then if happy with the offering, go for it.
But please, if you turn out to be wrong, and
I was correct in assuming the seller is only
trying to sell you the product, and then disapears
when the system is to be installed, do not come
to me for service or support on the installation
or the product you bought elsewhere.

I sell remote starters here as well, and only provide
that level of service to my own buyers, So the moral
here is do the research needed so it goes well.

If you want to shop in my store,

and see what's available.

Happy Holidays!

PS. this car also needs a transponder bypass module to
do remote start. See if the seller at ebay even
knows that!
