Car Alarms: Nissan Maxima Alarm Remote, rf transistor, nissan maxima

Question
QUESTION: Hi, I bought a 1996 Nissan Maxima about two years ago, second hand. The alarm system has been giving me trouble for close to a year year that it only works when you are up against the drivers window when you press the remote. Last week all failed and I couldn't even get the car started. Thought it was the alarm system itself, but turns out after we pulled the dash out that it wasn't the alarm but the remote. What has happened is the main RF transistor was repaired before we bought the car and the legs finaly broke off.

My question is do you have any idea what I can use to replace it? The original part number is as follows: 404 Conlog 35046. This is a manufacturers code and not a standard code.

Any help would be appreciated.

ANSWER: THIS IS AN AUTOMATED RESPONSE TO
YOUR QUESTION ABOUT "REMOTE PROGRAMMING".

As Homer Simpson Is Fond Of Saying: DOH!

If you did not notice, there is a note on
the site you just submitted this question from
that says I do not provide remote transmitter
programming information here.

That's still true.
I just don't offer that assistance.

Too many variables for me to get involved here
with all of that, so I opt to leave it up to the
others in this field that want to fill that
particular need to the public.

But never fear!

As I said,
there are those that do this service online
that sell direct to the customer.

Try a site like www.keylessride.com.
www.keynfob.com , or www.remotes4you.com
as providing replacement remote transmitters
and programming them, is what they specialize in.

Sorry about that.
Good luck with it.

QUESTION: If you actually read my question I was aking if you knew what I could use to replace the transistor not the whole bloody thing!!!! Never mind "Alarm Expert" I'll just find a broken remote from the dealers and use that one's transistor, sorry to waste your time. I thought you may actually know somwthing as you state.

Answer
Sorry you were not happy with the answer, but I do not
go into the working of each and every remote
out there, including repairs on OEM systems because
my expertise is in the installation of after market
systems, and to bypass OEM systems to make security
electronices function in most cars.

I "pass the buck" as you say, in order to allow
you to get the answer from a number of other resources
that have the information you are looking for in
my field.

Again, sorry you felt it nec. to lash out at someone
simply because you did not like the VOLUNTEERED answer
given.

I will strive to do better the next time someone
asks for help.

Have a good day.
