Car Alarms: alarm does not respond, alarmtek, fuses

Question
I have an AutoMate 415 that seems dead, there is no response at all from the remote although the LED on the remote flashes. Is ther a way to check the alarm before I install a new one?

Just to take off the alarm brain, meter the wires
for validity, and if fuses inline are popped,
repair/replace.

You also may have lost programming along the way,
since all are different, i don't have the info to re program them. Try www.directed.com for that.
