Car Alarms: Neon 2000 wont start because factory alarm, neons, key system

Question
Hello!
I have a 2000 Neon that won't start because of the factory alarm. When I open the door, I hear a ticking noise and my car won't start at all. Because of the noise, I cutted the wire that is connected to the alarm horn. I also found the little black box which I assume that is the actual alrm where the ticking noise comes from. It has no on/off switch. I disconnected the fuses in it and the ticking noise stops but the car still won't start. How can I fully disconnect this alarm?   Thank You!

Answer
You may have 2 systems at work here.
A factory alarm with an immobilizor
(GRAY ign. key= IMMOBILIZOR, standard
to all Neons of this year) and an after market
with a siren and starter kill relay inline.

If there is no valet/override button or switch,
I STRONGLY suggest you get a techniciain
under the dash to remove the after market alarm.

You also may need to have Dodge reset the "smart key"
system (factory) if it will not start after
the other was removed.

First though, remove the after market system
(clicking box).

Let me know what happens.
