Car Alarms: Command Start, gmc yukon, best buy

Question
QUESTION: Hello, I recently bought a 2001 GMC Yukon, and it had a Command Start unit installed in it, but no remotes.. I contacted Best Buy, they are a dealer here in Winnipeg, and they said no problem, grab the model number off the unit, and they can get a remote for it.. I checked, no moddel number, so I took it in and they couldent find a moddle number either>> Dont know what to do, what information would help you narrow down a model?? I doubt that it is very old, looks almost new,,, Thank you/..

ANSWER: Ryan,
In a perfect world, if this is installed like
we do here, and it is a "slave" starter, done correctly,
then try the "wizard of Oz" method,

CLICK THE UNLOCK BUTTON 3 TIMES.

If this is a Command Start 2000 (see at
my site www.STARTBYREMOTE.com) That's
what it would require to start.
Do it again and it stops, or hit
the brake without putting the key in,
and turning it on.

Let me know if it worked in your case.

QUESTION: The truck didnt even come with the fob's.. The unit is completely flat, and I noticed the 2000 had a raised section in the middle..

Answer
Then you will need to locate the manufacturer
if at all possible. All system are different
and guessing does not help you much.

Wish I could have been more help here.
Only thing I can offer is to sell you a new
system to replace that one with.
