Car Alarms: KARR Auto Alarms, toyota tacoma sr5, karr auto alarms

Question
I bought a 2007 Toyota Tacoma SR5 from a Toyota Dealer with a KARR alarm installed in February 07.My truck has power door locks ,I set the alarm and lock the doors with the remote.Everything worked fine till last few weeks,I can not unlock the door with out using the key so the alarm stays set this happens early mornings when its cold 30/40 degrees. How ever later in the day it works fine. I have had it looked at 3 times at the dealer where I purchased the vehicle. The Toyota dealer has a KARR tech that removed the chip to see if the alarm interfered with the doors locks and it didn't matter early mornings the doors would not unlock unless I used my keys. The chip is installed again so the KARR will look at it again. The KARR tech  feels it the vehicle door locks and the dealer feels it the alarm wiring. Have you had any experiences like this? And what do you recommend?

Answer
Mike, tell the technician to amplify the (-) door lock
outputs from the KARR system. I am willing to bet
that it was installed without the relays as
most alarms have these negative door lock outputs
"built in". The trouble here is that the KARR's
outputs may not provide enough umph to drive the
locks in cold weather like what's happening here.
My guess is they just need a bit more amperage
to provide the juice to throw the lock mechanism
when cold.

See negative relays at www.relayhelp.com
and apply to yours.

Try it. Let me know if it works.
