Car Alarms: 2002 Spyder Eclipse, alarmtek, dash area

Question
I went shopping today and locked my keys in the car. There was a bit of a space in the window so I was able to slip a wire in and unlock it. Then the alarm immediately went off. I some how manage to quiet it until I got home, but when I popped the trunk it went off again, and now I can't silence it. My husband disconnected the battery, but we don't have a car until we fix this.
We got the car used, it is a factory installed alarm, we only have a key and no remote locking, and no owner's manual. Also, read some of your other answers to similar questions, and I cannot see a "valet reset switch" as you describe it. The only thing I see is a white lever, with no spring, and we are afraid to push it as we don't know what it does. Please help me quick!

Answer
Please tell me what you are experiencing.

I need to determine whether it's a factory alarm
issue or, if it's an aftermarket system you are
dealing with.

Is it: Headlights flashing, car horn honking
and a worded SECURITY" light in the dash flashing?
(doubtfull since none of the notes show this
car as having a factory alarm system)
Or,
is it: flashing parking lights,
an LED in the dash area, and a siren
going off?

Let me know more on this to better
advise you on a course of action
to take, to help you to fix this
situation you're in quickly.
