Car Alarms: 95 Celica wont start, alarm manufacturer, valet service

Question
I just bought this car and I do not know the alarm manufacturer. The key fob has no I.D. on it. I was just working on my car and undid the neg battery cable. After reattaching the battery cable, car will not start. There appears to be no power to the starter. Batttery and wires double checked. Everything else on car works. When I turn the key, all I hear is silence except fuel pump. Key fob sets alarm and locks/unlocks doors. My alarm system is aftermarket but no info. I read your previous posts and found the reset button (silver). I turned key to on position and held reset button in to no avail...no chirp and led on dash does not come on. I think the kill the starter command is set...any suggestions would be soooo appreciated.

Answer
Gotcha, let's put it into valet/service mode,
and try to reset the alarm to default mode.

Look under the dash area for a button or, a toggle
switch. When you locate it, turn on the ignition
key, press and hold in the button (little
spring loaded micro button, red or black possibly)
until the alarm chirps 1 time. This should over ride
the system, and only the keyless entry part,
if installed, would still be operating.
The LED (light emiting diode) light in the dash
should also go on solid.

At this point. the alarm would have reset.
If this had a starter kill relay installed,
it would now be opened, and the engine would
turn over when tried.

You would repeat these steps to go back to
user mode to see if this was corrected.

Let me know if it works for yours.
