Car Alarms: car alarm, starter wire, brain box

Question
QUESTION: I have tried to reset my 97 dodge intrepid car alarm by pushing button under dash and turning key. It didn't work. Now i need to find out how to disable it so that it shuts off the kill switch.

ANSWER: Then again, you need to remove the alarm and re attatch the 2 ends of the starter wire. That is the only way to make the repair
needed to start the engine again.

You may need to get some help, but there is no easy way
if you tried the method I suggested earlier.

QUESTION: 1st I didn't get the reply with the method you suggested earlier.
2nd Is the alarm next to the starter? And is it easy to tell what the Alarm is? Am i disconnecting the alarm from the starter then attaching the 2 starter wires?

Answer
Ah, ok.

Valet/override is key on, press and hold valet button until
tha alarm responds. Then do the same to toggle out of valet.

If this is not working, then locate the brain box,
probably situated to the left of the steering
column under the dash. Unplug all hanesses to it,
and then repair the starter wire to get it going.

The starter is the only wire in the ignition
column that shows 12 volts in crank only.
There will be a relay installed inline that needs
removal. then repair the starter wire and remove
the rest of the alarm, taping off any exposed
wires as you go.

That's what you will now need to do if valet/overide
does not work.
