Car Alarms: 2003 Buick Rendezvous, buick rendezvous, beeps

My 2003 Buick Rendezvous came with a key and remote. However, the remote broke off my keychain. My boyfriend started the car this morning to get it warm and left the key in the ignition. Then he went to work with my remote in his pocket. I did not notice until I was already at work about to get out of the car that my remote was missing. I got out of the car and locked the door by pushing the lock and unlock button inside of the car. The car just beeps because it will not lock while one of the doors is open. As soon as the door shut, I heard the door lock. So here is my question, will my alarm go off while I am trying to get in the car for lunch or to go home? All I have is my key and I am very nervous that when I use my key to open the door and start the car, it is going to sound off. Do you have any suggestions or advice?

The best advice here is to contact Buick right away.
They have the records, and the equipment to replace the
key immediately.

That remote, and the key are vital to the starting and
alarming of the car, and you could have a lockout issue
that will leave you stranded.

PLEASE go to Buick and spend a little to replace.
