Car Alarms: Lost my alarm remote cant start my car, jumper cables, dash area

Question
QUESTION: I RECENTLY LOST MY ALARM REMOTE AND MY CAR BATTERY DIED. WHEN I HOOK UP THE JUMPER CABLES TO BEGIN CHARGING MY TRUCK THE ALARM GOES OFF AND I USED TO JUST PUSH THE ALARM DEACTIVATION BUTTON AND PROBLEM SOLVED. WITHOUT THE REMOTE I CANT DO THIS, OBVIOUSLY, SO I OPENED UP THE ALARM BOX (THE ALARM IS A MIRAGE  MODEL 9500) AND CUT THE SIREN WIRE WHICH WORKED THE SIREN STOPPED. THEN I CUT THE DISARM BUTTON WHICH DID NOT DO ANYTHING. I HAVE AUXILIARY POWER BUT MY STARTED DOES NOT TURN OVER AND THE ALARM BEGINS TO MAKE A CLICKING NOISE AS SOON AS I TRY TO TURN THE STARTER OVER, I THINK ITS A RELAY OF SOME KIND. I AM LOST NOW

ANSWER: The alarm seems to be in long tamper mode.
You will need to reset, and possibly
re program the remotes. That part you will need
your manual for, but the aftermarket alarm
seems to be doing it's job.
At least we know it's installed correctly
which is actually a good thing here.

Ok, try this.
Put the key in the ignition, and turn forward
all the way just before cranking. Then within
5 seconds, locate, press and hold in the
valet/overide button, found under the
dash area, (push button, spring loaded)
until the installed LED (the blinking light)
in your dash area goes on solid,
and the siren chirps once.

(Your valet switch might be the toggle
(on/off) type. in this case, key on,
flip switch in opposite direction,
then turn the key off.)

This should reset the alarm, and reset
the grounded relay on the starter wire,
allowing you to start the engine.

At this point, the only thing working would
be the keyless entry from the alarm,
if it came equipped that way.

Just Repeat these steps to place it
back to usable armed mode.
You may get 2 chirps, confirming it,
and the lights may flash twice as well.

That should do it.
If you want to remove it at this point,
take it to your neighborhood installer
for this, or buy the wiring chart
(Go to: www.vehiclewires.com)
for the vehicle, and reverse engineer it wire
by wire, until safely removed.

If it does not work out this way,
you will have to replace the system
with one you know how to operate
and what to expect. Don't want to
get stuck in another bad situation.

You can also go to a site like www.keynfob.com
and get a replacement remote. This would be advised
if planing to keep and use it.

Let me know what happens.

QUESTION: I AM SURE THAT WOULD WORK, BUT I DON'T HAVE A VALET BUTTON/SWITCH OR EVEN A WIRE FOR ONE INSIDE THE ALARM BOX.

Answer
That's problematic then, as the only other
way to disarm and disable is to unplug the alarm
remove/repair/tape off all ansulary wiring and
then repair the starter wire.

There is a relay inline in most cases yes,
as well as a valet overide switch. If
no switch, then it's clear you can not use
or control what you have in there at
this point.

Locate the starter wire in the ignition
switch harness. This wire would show 12 volts
only when cranking. You will most likely see
an inline relay with 2 butt connectors on
it too. This is the starter kill relay & socket.
Cut it out of line, and re connect the 2 ends
of the starter wire back together.

The car will start now.

Good luck.
