I have an issue with the electric door locks.This vehicle had an aftermarket keyless entry that started acting up so I removed it from the vehicle and ever since the doors will not lock with the electric door button when the door or doors are open (I have to get in,shut the door and then lock the doors with the electric door button open the door manually push the door button down then shut the door) to lock the vehicle. The electric button will unlock the doors when the door is open it just wont lock them when it is open. I am pretty shur that it is a single wire lock/unlock system. I have not tried anything yet because I dont want to posibly make it worse. Any help is appriciated.

Tricky locking system. If damaged, this may not
work.

When we do a keyless entry system on power door locks,
we assume that the door locks are working already,
and to then can apply the after market system to work in
congress with it. If yours is malfunctioning, that needs
to be repaired prior to this work.

YES THE 2005 CARAVAN DOOR LOCKS ARE
A SINGLE WIRE NEGATIVE RESISTED SYSTEM

Power Unlock  VIOLET/DARK GREEN  (-)  
AT BCM WHITE PLUG
NEGATIVE THROUGH A 2K OHM RESISTOR MUST USE RELAY!

PowerLock  VIOLET/DARK GREEN  (-)  BCM WHITE PLUG
NEGATIVE THROUGH A 5.3K OHM RESISTOR MUST USE RELAY!
THE BCM IS LOCATED ON DRIVERS SIDE FIREWALL
PLUGS FACING TOWARDS STEERING WHEEL.

But this info is to add a keyless entry.

Cart before the horse. Try to check all fuses
and then the connections on the keyless for
errors. You may need a Chiltons Manual on this
