Car Alarms: GM Passkey \ Codealarm issue, gm passkey, passlock ii

Question
I have a 99 Yukon that I've had a professionally installed CodeAlarm Surestart LX in place for about 5 years.  All the alarm and remote start functions work properly, however I'm having an intermittant activation of the GM Passkey system which requires the full, 3 session reset procedure each time.  Obviously this is very inconvenient and I was wondering if you might be able to point me in the right direction as to a remedy.  I should note that, just as intermittantly, but with no correlation, the SECURITY dash light will come on and go off at various times when driving.  I know this is an indicator of the inoperation of the Passkey system but is it related to the alarm installation wiring?  A faulty Passkey system?  Faulty alarm?  Any help would be appreciated.

Answer
Might be faulty. I say permanantly disable the
passlock II.  www.passlock2.com

That will get rid of the issue.

The alarm wiring was working fine for 5 years right?
My guess is that it's a burnt out, or
is going to be, passlock system.

Put it to sleep.

Good luck.
