Car Alarms: 2003 camry alarm, alarmtek, toyota vehicle

Question
QUESTION: I have a 2003 camry, right now the battery is disconnected, but when I reconnect it the alarm goes off and it won't start.  I tried doing some sort of "valet reset" based off of your answer to somebody with a different year camry, but that didn't seem to work.  Is there a different procedure I need to follow?

ANSWER: I need to determine whether it's a factory alarm
issue or, if it's an aftermarket system you are
dealing with.

Is it: Headlights flashing, car horn honking
and a worded SECURITY" light in the dash flashing?
Or,
Is it: flashing parking lights,
an LED in the dash area, and a siren
"going off"?

Let me know more on this to better
advise you on a course of action.

QUESTION: Thanks for your quick response, I'm pretty sure it is a factory alarm.  Right now the battery is pretty much dead, but it was the headlights flashing and the car horn honking "but I am not sure about the word security in the dash".  It was not a siren.

Thanks

Answer
Ok, It appears you've reset the Immobilizer.
The car does not recognise the chip in the ignition
key any longer.

The Transmod (Toyota's fuel injection cut off system)
needs to be reprogrammed I believe.
You can tow it to any Toyota vehicle dealer
to have the service department re code it.

The troube is in the ignition at the reader
probably. The pulling of the battery, reset it.
But Toyota will need to determine that.

Sorry about that. Not all the answers I have
to offer are what you want to hear, but you need
this info to start off, & to get it done right.

Good luck.
