Car Alarms: Prestige APS-997 car alarm, valet mode, dash area

Question
QUESTION: I went away on vacation and when I came back my car was dead. I took it to the dealer and it turns out it was the alternator. That has been fixed but when I got it back from the dealership the LCD light was solid and the alarm didn't work at all. I tried looking at previous questions and it seems like the alarm is in the valet mode but my keyless entry isn't working. I tried using the toggle switch and that didn't do anything.  If you could help I would appreciate it.

Thanks,
Alyson

ANSWER: Describe the procedure/method you are using
with the toggle switch.

Trying to see if it's a missed step perhaps?

(ps)
(it actually should be a push button type)

QUESTION: I turned the car on and then toggled the switch off then turned the car off. The LCD stayed a solid light. Unless there are two switches it is a toggle and not a push button, is that possible?

Thanks for responding so quickly

Answer
May be an older switch from another alarm.

Please get out the flash light
and look under the dash area possibly to the left leg
area. It may also be part of the antenna, or the
LED. But I think it's a spring loaded button.

Once found, key on, press and hold button until
the LED blinks off, and you get a couple of chirps.

That would reset it.
