Car Alarms: Alarm has disabled car, deimler chrysler, valet service

Question
I have a 2002 PT Cruiser which is at the body shop for repair. I stopped using my alarm system (code alarm) about 3 years ago because it was a nuisance and nver worked right.  The body shop says the alarm has some how disabled my car and won't allow it to start.  Can this be overridden?  I don't want to leave my car there over the weekend.

Answer
Sure, If it's the Code alarm,
let's put it into valet/service mode.

Many if not all of the Code Alarms
used a spring loaded LED/Overide combination switch.
When you locate it, turn on the ignition
key, press and hold in the LED/button.
until the alarm chirps 1 time. This should over ride
the system, and only the keyless entry part,
if installed, would still be operating.
The LED (light emiting diode) light in the dash
should also go on solid.

But also keep in mind, it's an educated guess.
However...
The Other thing you may have issue with is that
Deimler/Chrysler vehicles that use a gray ignition
keys, have an immobilizer system factory built.

This means the gray ignition key you have has
a chip that communicates a code to the reader
in the ignition column. This means it's the only
way to start the car if the key is gray.

Now, if the repair shop reset that,
they should pay Chrysler to reset/reprogram it,
as it was they're mistake.

Tell me what your solution
turns out to be.
Good luck.
