I have lost my Kia Optima car alarm .  How can I disable the alrm ot do I have to go and buy a new one?

Lost the alarm? You probably mean the remote.
Either start with KIA to get a replacement,
(suggested) or if after market (likely) see
the last few posts about valet overide.
Then get the new remote. Either way, you need
to replace the transmitter to get it to act
correctly.
