Car Alarms: 1993 Acura Legend Alarm issues, acura legend, accelerator pedal

Question
We also just purchased a used Acura Legend that the alarm has gone off of its own accord.  We do not have an owner's manual either.(Will be ordering one, so thanks for that tip!)  When our alarm goes off, the horn honks, the headlights flash and a red LED button next to the words "Anti-theft" near the radio comes on.  We do not have a keypad opener - only keys.  We were finally able to get home yesterday by disconnecting the battery, and both horns, and then reattaching the battery cables.  When we got home, my husband locked everything again several times and the alarm did not come on.  Help!

Answer
Hmmm, try not to remove the battery cables
as it plays havoc with these factory alarms.
Any how, let's get you squared away here.

Ok, normally, you would insert the key in
the drivers door, turn left, then right
to disarm and reset it. If yours is malfunctioning,
you can disable it for good by doing the following:

The FACTORY ALARM DISARM WIRE IS
green/red |-|at the anti-theft module
located between the column and center console
above the accelerator pedal.

Once Located, splice into this wire with
a simular guage wire, and put it to
a solid chassis ground. This terminates
the alarm functions entirely.

That's that.

However, at this point, this car would be exceedingly
easy to steel, so I suggest you get an aftermarket
alarm system to protect it from here on in.

Have a good day.
