Car Alarms: 2001 Nissan Pathfinder Security/Alarm Module, nissan pathfinder, alarmtek

Question
QUESTION: My alarm, door locks and inside lights do not work.  I can only assume the security / alarm module is out.  I had 2 wrecks in the rear, which caused the alarm to just go off while parked.  Now it doesn't work at all.  Can you tell me if this is the problem and how to locate it?

ANSWER: Is it: Headlights flashing, car horn honking
and a worded SECURITY" light in the dash flashing?
Or,
Is it: flashing parking lights,
an LED in the dash area, and a siren
"going off"?

Let me know more on this to better
advise you on a course of action.

QUESTION: When it went off...  Horn honking and lights flashing, but unable to determine whether the security light was flashing.  But, door locks (manual or remote), security, internal lights do not work at all now.  I was told that the security module went out and it was a common thing.  Need to know where to locate it.

Answer
Ok, in the truck,
normally, you would insert the key in
the drivers door, turn left, then right
to disarm and reset it. If yours is malfunctioning,
you can disable it for good by doing the following:

The FACTORY ALARM DISARM WIRE IS
light green |-| at the keyless entry module.
The Keyless entry module is located under
drivers side of dash.

Once Located, splice into this wire with
a simular guage wire, and put it to
a solid chassis ground. This terminates
the alarm functions entirely.

However, at this point, this car would be exceedingly
easy to steel, so I suggest you get an aftermarket
alarm system to protect it from here on in.

Have a good day.
