Car Alarms: car alarm, hyundai accent, educated guess

Hi, I have a 2002-2003 hyundai accent which has an alarm.  Each time we check the oil, coolant etc. under bonnet after closing it, the light does not come on when we lock it with the key and the alarm tends to go off after a while.  I open and close the bonnet again and it does not change things.  Is there something I am not doing properly.  Thanks.

Ok, the accent here in the states does not have a
factory system in it, so advancing an educated
guess here. I would like to ask if you
have a remote to arm and disarm the system?
If yes, it's nec. to only use the remote, as the key
will set off the alarm everytime.

If no remote, then I'd run it over to Hyundai,
and get they're input on this.

Since I am not there, no way to inspect,
but That's a decent starting point.
