Car Alarms: Factory car alarms, alarmtek, car alarms

i have a 1999 pontiac sunfire. i have a factory alarm system. At night the alarm goes off on its own without being tampered with. also while im driving to work the alarm goes off while the car is on and moving. i disconnected the battery but when i reconnected the alarm still goes off. in addition the alarm can go off for 30 minutes or 5 minutes depending on what mood the car is in any help please

I need to determine whether it's a factory alarm
issue or, if it's an aftermarket system you are
dealing with.

Many veriables on this vehicle &
I Require a bit more imput please.

Is it: Headlights flashing, car horn honking
and a worded SECURITY" light in the dash flashing?
Or,
is it: flashing parking lights,
an LED in the dash area, and a siren
going off?

Let me know more on this to better
advise you on a course of action
to take, to help you to fix this
situation you're in quickly.
