Car Alarms: 1997 Integra Alarm issue, car horn sounds, alarm car

My kid has a 1997 GSR Integra, bought used. When I use the keyless remote, no problem. If I unlock the car with the key, alarm (car horn) sounds and won't stop. This is a problem when kid takes remote back to school and I have to move the car using the key. There is a little flashing red light on the dash and a spring-loaded pushbutton that seems to be involved. How do I find out what brand/model the alarm is? How do I learn how to control it (is there a manual?)? How do I open and drive the car with the just the key?
