Car Alarms: Remote start, side kick panel, downtown something

Question
I have a 2000 Ford Explorer.In 2003 I had Best Buy install the remote start.In 2005 I had them install a stereo.
Everytime I drive downtown something triggers my alarm. My horns automatically starts honking-lights flashing. Its only when I drive in a certain area downtown.
What is causing this? Cross in the wires during installation?

Answer
Yes.
Best guess is they need to go back in there
and disable the factory alarm, but in anycase,
yes. it's on them to repair the issue from what
you said. The goofed it up, they need to fix it.

Ok, give the technician these notes:
You can disable the onboard
factory/OEM alarm system
for good by doing the following:

The FACTORY ALARM DISARM WIRE IS
dk. green/purple, LOCATED IN THE DRIVERS
SIDE KICK PANEL, IN THE WIRE PACK COMING
OUT OF THE DOOR.

Once Located, splice into this wire with
a simular guage wire, and put it to
a solid chassis ground. This terminates
the alarm functions entirely.

However, at this point, this car would be exceedingly
easy to steel, so I suggest you get an aftermarket
alarm system to protect it from here on in.

Good luck with it!
