Car Alarms: 2005 Nissan Altima Alarm Problem, 2005 nissan altima, nissan altima

I have a 2005 Nissan Altima with factory installed alarm.   The alarm does not seem to be arming when I press the button on the keyfob.    The lights flash but I do not hear the horn chirp nor does the LED light start blinking like it nomally does when the alarm is armed.

The panic button works fine.

Any ideas?

Please tell me what you are experiencing.

I need to determine whether it's a factory alarm
issue or, if it's an aftermarket system you are
dealing with.

Is it: Headlights flashing, car horn honking
and a worded SECURITY" light in the dash flashing?
Or,
Is it: flashing parking lights,
an LED in the dash area, and a siren
"going off"?

Let me know more on this to better
advise you on a course of action.
