Car Alarms: Viper auto alarm system, 12 volt, installation forum

Question
Viper auto alarm system (if it helps remote id #EZSDEI490).  Alarm system is active/activated but emits no sounds.  For example, the one beep for armed and the two beeps for disarm or vice versa; although, the lights inside and out flash/blink.  That is how I know the alarm is active/activated and still working.  I have tried arming the car and opening the doors from the inside to set off the alarm, again, the lights flash but no wailing. but when i push the panic button the alarm goes off what could this be?
