Car Alarms: 1994 Mazda 626 Factory Alarm Problem, alarmtek, fuse box

Question
QUESTION: Can you tell me how to disable the factory alarm on a 1994 Mazda 626 ES V6. The alarm activates sometimes when I open the door with the key. This is starting to get annoying. I would like to disable it permanently.

Thanks in advance!
----- Jack

ANSWER: I need to determine if it's a factory alarm
issue or, if it's an aftermarket system you are
dealing with.

Is it: Headlights flashing, car horn honking
and a worded SECURITY" light in the dash flashing?
Or,
Is it: flashing parking lights,
an LED in the dash area, and a siren
"going off"?

Let me know more on this to better
advise you on a course of action.

QUESTION: I am almost 100% sure this is a factory alarm. The car horn honks and there is an orange light on the dash that says "security." Also, there is no remote. When the car is locked with the key, the alarm is activated-the security light flashes. Hope this helps.

Answer
Ok, normally, you would insert the key in
the drivers door, turn left, then right
to disarm and reset it. If yours is malfunctioning,
you can disable it for good by doing the following:

The FACTORY ALARM DISARM WIRE IS
yellow/red or, lt green/black | - |
in the drivers door harness or,
located in the drivers door harness or the
at the factory alarm, built into the fuse box.

Once Located, splice into this wire with
a simular guage wire, and put it to
a solid chassis ground. This terminates
the alarm functions entirely.

However, at this point, this car would be exceedingly
easy to steel, so I suggest you get an aftermarket
alarm system to protect it from here on in.

Have a good day.
