Car Alarms: car alarm, viper alarm, designtech

Question
I got a new battery put in my car three days ago.  Prior to getting the battery put in, my viper alarm worked fine.  After installation the alarm doesn't work anymore and my new battery is draining already.  Is ther a connection with the two.
