Car Alarms: Alarm Remote Battery Replacement, alarmtek, pursuit car

Question
The remote to my Pursuit car alarm is dying fast.  I need to replace the battery I imagine (the car is 10 years old).  But I don't have the information on the system and am afraid if I change the battery the alarm may need to be reset.  Is this something to worry about?  The kill switch doesn't work so I just want to be sure before I mess with it.

Answer
I'd leave it be for now. Drive over to the local car alarm/stereo shop,
play dumb (cause you would be playing.
This is a remakably well thought out,
and excellent question by the way!),
bat your pretty eyes at the 17 year old,
pimply faced installer there, and ask him to
do this 1 little thing for you.

I got real money says that that works, and it will
be done to the point that they replace the
faulty valet switch, possibly for free.

It's not hard work for them, and they are better
equipped there if there is an issue. Make them feel
good to help too!

Let me know if I was right, k?

lol.
