Car Alarms: 1993 Nissan Maxima Not starting, nissan maxima, alarmtek

Question
QUESTION: Hello,
I've had my car now for a little under a year (1993 Nissan Maxima GXE), I was away on a trip and my brother calls me up and says that my car isn't starting, which it was prior to my trip. I took it to a trusted technician and he told me that it's the slarm system dissabling the starter. Now I know that I could just dissable the alarm system by grounding it to the chassis, but I do not want to dissable my alarm. How can I fix this problem without having to dissable my alarm?? Also, what does this have to do with my keyless entry on the door??

Any help would be greatly appreciated because this problem is driving me nuts...Thanks

ANSWER: I need to determine whether it's a factory alarm
issue or, if it's an aftermarket system you are
dealing with.

Is it: Headlights flashing, car horn honking
and a worded SECURITY" light in the dash flashing?
Or,
Is it: flashing parking lights,
an LED in the dash area, and a siren
"going off"?

Let me know more on this to better
advise you on a course of action.

Answer
Normally, you would insert the key in
the drivers door, turn left, then right
to disarm and reset it. If yours is malfunctioning,
you can disable it for good by doing the following:

The FACTORY ALARM DISARM WIRE IS
yel/rd or lt grn/blk|-  |drivers door harness or the
at the factory alarm, built into the fuse box.

Once Located, splice into this wire with
a simular guage wire, and put it to
a solid chassis ground. This terminates
the alarm functions entirely.

However, at this point, this car would be exceedingly
easy to steel, so I suggest you get an aftermarket
alarm system to protect it from here on in.

Have a good day.
