Car Alarms: Disalarm Problem: 1985 Nissan Maxima Manufactored Alarm, alarmtek, nissan maxima

Question
QUESTION: After I installed a new battery, the manufactored alarm automatically has stayed on since. I closed the doors and lock/unlock the vehicle by using the driver door lock but still cannot dis-active. Please kindly teach me the procedure to de-activate this alarm?
ANSWER: I need to determine whether it's a factory alarm
issue or, if it's an aftermarket system you are
dealing with.

Many veriables on this vehicle &
I Require a bit more imput please.

Is it: Headlights flashing, car horn honking
and a worded SECURITY" light in the dash flashing?
Or,
is it: flashing parking lights,
an LED in the dash area, and a siren
going off?

Let me know more on this to better
advise you on a course of action
to take, to help you to fix this
situation you're in quickly.

QUESTION: It is DISALARMED with: Headlights constantly flashing, car horn constantly honking and a worded "SECURITY" light in the dash constantly flashing. My car in this stage won't start.

It's a factory alarm system.

Thanks for your prompt help!
Doug
ANSWER: Ok then,
Normally, you would insert the key in
the drivers door, turn left, then right
to disarm and reset it. If yours is malfunctioning,
you can disable it for good by doing the following:

The FACTORY ALARM DISARM WIRE IS
lt. blue - (negative) in either kick
panel area.

Once Located, splice into this wire with
a simular guage wire, and put it to
a solid chassis ground. This terminates
the alarm functions entirely.

However, at this point, this car would be exceedingly
easy to steel, so I suggest you get an aftermarket
alarm system to protect it from here on in.

Have a good day.

QUESTION: What is a "kick panel"? and where exactly is this 'area'?

once again, i appreciate your prompt reply.

Doug

Answer
It's the plastic covering between the left leg area and the
metal wall of the interior chassis. Remove this
with a philips or pop th clips fastening
it in place. In this area you will find
wire packs, and the one coming out of the door jamb
will have the wire you need for this application.
