Car Alarms: Mazda power locks/alarm make unwanted noise, mazda 3, enthusiast forum

I somehow missed this on the test drive - my 'new' '05 Mazda 3 has power locks that trigger the car's horn.  This is unecessary and obnoxious to my neighbors if I come home late.  Even the locking switch in the car triggers the horn.  Do you know how this can be made silent while still locking the car and being able to use the horn if necessary?  Any advice is welcome.  Thanks.

This question is really out of my area of expertise.  I am only familiar with the functions/operations of aftermarket products.  If the option of silent locking is not covered in your owner's manual then I would suggest posting this question to a Mazda enthusiast forum like:
