Car Alarms: 2000 Subaru Outback, oem alarms, subaru outback

Question
I just got my 2000 Outback and the alarm work a little differently than most cars I'm used to.  Locking and arming are a single step.  Also, unlocking makes the horn honk (LOUDLY) twice.  I don't really care about the horn going off even during theft - I figure if someone if going to steal it, they'll steal it anyway.  So, is there some wire I can cut to still allow the lights to flash, but not cause the horn to blow for locking/arming OR unlocking?

Thanks

Answer
No sorry. This is an OEM factory system from
the sounds of it. Subaru would need to alter
it, and it's doubtful that they can.

If it were an aftermarket piece, you could
remove the siren confirmation 3 ways.
1, by disconnecting that output.
2. by using a siren instead of a horn
3. by internal programming settings
to toggle on and off.

Sorry, but the OEM alarms (factory) do
not have the flexability the after market
does.

Good luck.
