Car Alarms: no sounds whatsoever..but cars lights flashes/blinks, customized car, ebay

Viper auto alarm system (if it helps remote id #EZSDEI490).  Alarm system is active/activated but emits no sounds.  For example, the one beep for armed and the two beeps for disarm or vice versa; although, the lights inside and out flash/blink.  That is how I know the alarm is active/activated and still working.  I have tried arming the car and opening the doors from the inside to set off the alarm, again, the lights flash but no wailing.  Could it be a problem more than just engaging/disengaging a function, like it is simply broken?  Help

If the lights are flashing when the alarm is going off then your siren is probably bad.  Although it is pretty rare that they go bad it does happen.  A replacement siren is inexpensive and simple to replace.  You can get one from eBay for under $20.00 (http://cgi.ebay.com/6-Tone-customized-Car-Alarm-Replacement-Siren-DEI-514T_W0QQi...  for example).
