Car Alarms: 93 Pontiac Bonneville SSEI Alarm Problem, pontiac bonneville ssei, pontiac bonneville

Question
QUESTION: I recently purchased a 93 Pontiac Bonneville SSEI, all they gave me with the car is a small remote (not the original that I saw in the owners manual) that doesn't work the keyless entry but you have to click it or you cant start the car. This was fine, I thought  the factory system went out or something. I just used the key to open the door, but then the other night when I got in the car the factory alarm started going off and I couldn't disable it, I drove home with horns blaring and lights flashing. I pulled the negative cable to clear the alarm but I need to fix this problem so it wont happen again. At least I would like to disable the factory system but if I could I would like to get the keyless entry working. I greatly appreciate any help you can give me.
ANSWER: The factory alarm in this car arms and disarms,
the door locks are locked or unlocked.

You would normally put the key in the drivers door,
turn all the way left, then right to disarm it.

The way to insure it, is to add a remote keyless entry
to lock and unlock the doors. Other then that, GM would
need to inspect it to discover any anomolies.
You can always have a new OEM remote programed
to it at the Local dealership which would
solve this too.

QUESTION: Is there an easy way to permanently disable the factory alarm so it wont go off any more in case I cant get it working? I saw the remotes you sell for this car, if I buy one, can I program it to the car?

Answer
No, there is'nt.
Sorry about that, but I am just the messenger here.
And unless you are buying an add on keyless entry
(suggested), then you still need to contact the
Pontiac dealer near you to reset it.

Not always what you WANT to hear, here, but it
is what's happening and it's not always the easiest solution, but it is what will work. Blame Pontiac.
