Car Alarms: alarm mystery problem, prestige alarm, corrosion

a couple of years ago i had a prestige alarm (APS2K4) installed in my honda,
now 3 yrs later it seems that my alarm range has decreased.  I ve already
changed the alarm's battery and seems that i only had a little range of
improvement. any advice ???

I would suggest trying a few things, first check the vehicle's battery to ensure it is operating at full capacity.  Although the alarm does not require a significant amount of current to run a battery that is providing lower voltages than it used to can cause a decrease in operating distance.  Take a look at the system ground point, I have found that even though a ground point may be sufficient to allow the system to operate they can get 'weaker' over time, and simply remaking the ground connection can improve operating range.  The last thing I can suggest is to replace the remote control itself, as with all things electronic moisture can cause corrosion on components even if not visible, and over time it can hamper the performance of the device.
